How it works

Start editing in three simple steps

  1. Open or load an SVG

Start from the default sample, paste markup, or load an icon into the studio.

  2. Edit on the canvas

Select layers, adjust styles in the inspector, and refine until it looks right.

  3. Export your result

Download or copy the updated SVG (and related exports) for your project.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about editing SVG online

Does the SVG editor upload my files?

No. Editing, preview, and export all run in your browser. Your SVG markup stays on your device unless you choose to download or copy it yourself.

Can I edit icons from the SVGForge library?

Yes. Use Pick Icon in the toolbar (enter a key like lucide:house or Browse sets), open an icon from a collection, or visit /app/svg-tools/editor?icon=prefix:name. The studio loads that SVG so you can tweak layers and export. Public icons stay under their upstream open-source licenses—editing or exporting does not grant extra rights. Review the license on the icon set page before commercial use; see our Terms for the full disclaimer.

What can I export from the editor?

You can export cleaned SVG and related formats suitable for apps, docs, and design handoff. Use the studio export controls after you finish editing.

Will undo/redo keep my work safe?

Yes. The editor keeps local history while the tab is open, so you can experiment with styles and geometry without losing earlier states.
